Greetings everyone.
As some of you may already know, the RPA software is built around the Microsoft visual foxpro compiler.
Microsoft decided to retired Visual foxpro, so it is no longer supported.
This of course makes it very difficult to provide new releases of RPA that will run on the next Microsoft operating system platform such as Vista or Windows 2008.
For the moment, RPA runs on Vista when you disable the UAC(user account control). What will happen if it doesnt work anymore with, let's say, a new service pack of Vista? We can't say. Microsoft will never patch foxpro to make it work, so RPA will likely never be patched too.
With the coming of AD&D 4th edition, will we invest time and effort to provide the 4th edition support in RPA? The answer is no, not with Foxpro. So do we have the "Expertise" to convert all the foxpro code to Visual basic for example? No, we dont.
So the future doesn't look good.
We understand that RPA may still be useful for many DM out there using the 3rd edition or even the 2nd edition(yes...i know some of you are still using 2nd edition, you told me!). For that reason, we'll keep RPA available for as long as there is a demand for it, but we do not plan any new release soon, unless we see a new release of foxpro on vista/2008.
Thank you for your continuous support during all those years.
